it is really hard to find a company that will accept you as a deck cadet..
most of them are looking for relatives, or recommendations, they say that they are lacking of ship officers nowadays, honestly I am not shock about this news...
they are looking for ship officers but not accepting beginners

After a long day working on the deck, while the engine boys is doing exactly the same routine, the best part is when everyone sitting on  the crew mess, with the karaoke, a cold  beer or sometimes a good shot of brandy, sizzling sisig  or anything to go with it.. then the jokes goes around... and boy!!!  some of the jokes is not for fainthearted... you really have to know how to  dance with the tune... I love hearing the good laugh......  and I do heard them say this!!

" Cheers for the wound that never been heal"...

" In every city theres a china town, But In every city the Filipino in town"

" when Filipino seafarer speak, the whole world understand?"

" Ang mali  ng isang Filipino, mali ng lahat"

" To  travel the world and get paid, The world is round but the Filipino goes around the world"

" I thought  the steward say if I want "KAPOTE"  what  he mean is If I want " cup-of-tea"

" I thought the Australian pilot say if we coming to die..what he  mean is if we going alongside today".

" when we battling a low pressure we are the most religious  worker we know all the name of the saints and all the bible litany,  were also the best business analyst as when the swell is too much we plan all the business we can have when we go home... but that doesn't happen, soon as the weather pick up were talking about going to another vessel for another contract!!"

" when I first join the vessel I took a flight from Philippine, to USA..  I  was so hungry when I finally join the vessel , they ask me why? I said I didn't eat on my flight I thought I have to pay for the meals....."

"  I thought the Japanese is so polite and respectful to the Ilonggo crew  I thought I heard them say  >>>> hari   ka  TOHH!!!!....

and a lots more to go on..... needless to say I love the good sense of humor of the Filipino crew they are the best  when it comes to  social conversation....  pretty relax people  and easy to get along with!!! Cheers  boys!!   (wag mong hilumin ang sugat na malalim) thats a saying for a broken hearted one.. Wink
